Each month, our KUDUCOM Kares series highlights a local organization making a meaningful impact in the Tampa Bay community. These are the groups doing important work that often flies under the radar. This month, we’re proud to spotlight New Life Village, a one-of-a-kind residential community helping families and children impacted by foster care or trauma find healing, stability, and hope.
Founded in 2012, New Life Village was created to address two major challenges facing our region: the foster care crisis and the lack of affordable housing. Located in Tampa, the Village provides safe, below-market housing and wraparound services to families raising foster, adoptive, and kinship children who have survived abuse, neglect, and trauma.
What makes New Life Village truly unique is its intergenerational, community-based model. Families live side by side, supporting one another through mentorship, friendship, and shared experiences. It’s a close-knit environment built on compassion, connection, and the belief that everyone has something meaningful to contribute proving that it really does take a village to raise a child.
Today, New Life Village supports 52 households and more than 170 residents, including 113 children. Through its affordable housing and trauma-informed wellness programs, the organization helps families find stability, build resilience, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
